As CEO of LTSE, Maliz Beams brings over 30 years of experience in finance and business leadership. With a vision to build a better world through the undeniable power of business, Maliz leads LTSE in convening innovative companies and long-term investors. She firmly believes that building a business based on higher principles pays dividends that transcend short-term gains.
Before joining LTSE, Maliz broke barriers and led Voya Financial Inc.’s Retirement Solutions business, taking the company public in the largest financial service IPO since 2008. Prior to that, she led TIAA-CREF Individual & Institutional Services’ growth and success as President and CEO. Maliz also served as Counselor of the U.S. Department of State and led many businesses to record growth during her tenure at Zurich Scudder Investments, Fleet Investment Advisors, American Express, and Citibank.
Maliz currently serves as Chair of the FNZ Trust Company’s Board and is a Board Member of Principal Financial Group, $1.6T of assets under management and administration serving on the Finance and Audit/Risk Committees. She served on Salesforce America’s Advisory Board, and serves on Vestigo Ventures Advisory Board - a fintech investment fund.
Maliz also serves as Vice-Chair on Beth Israel Lahey Health/Mount Auburn Hospital’s board, a Harvard Teaching Hospital and Beth Israel Lahey Health System’s Finance Committee. She serves as Worldwide Board of Governors, Emeritus Governor of Junior Achievement Worldwide. Ms. Beams served on numerous other not-for-profit boards.
Maliz earned her B.A. in English from Boston College, Special Studies in Strategic Planning from Harvard University, and M.B.A. in Finance/Marketing from Columbia University. As a woman who has been featured six times as one of “The 10 Most Powerful Women in Finance,” Maliz demonstrates a combination of business acumen, integrity, and outstanding leadership.
