Kathleen has been an executive, public policy adviser, and regulator. Her expertise ranges from emerging technology and cybersecurity to financial regulation, control infrastructures, and risk management. She currently advises and sits on the boards of early-stage fintech and privacy companies. She also serves on several advisory boards at academic institutions as well as on the committee that oversees the endowment and other investments for the University at Buffalo. Previously, Kathleen was counselor to the deputy secretary at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where she led domestic and international cybersecurity initiatives and advised on fintech and financial regulation. Kathleen also built a global financial consulting practice at Promontory Financial Group and, more recently, served as a full-time board member at the U.S. regulator of public company auditors, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. Kathleen began her career as a securities attorney, was a senior enforcement official at the SEC, and has held executive and board positions at securities exchanges.
